Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Michigan Dawn Patrol LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use muskegonsurfcam.com and its related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use information

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed:

4. Cookies and advertising choices

Third‑party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info/choices. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

5. Data retention

We retain account and usage information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Recorded camera footage is kept only on a short rolling basis (currently about 24 hours) and is then automatically and permanently deleted. You may request deletion of your account information as described below.

6. Live camera and recorded footage

The Service operates a camera that shows public outdoor areas of the Muskegon waterfront, including the beach, the piers, and Lake Michigan. The camera captures video only — it does not record audio. Because it views a public space, people and activity in those areas may incidentally appear in the live stream and in recorded footage.

A rolling recording of approximately the most recent 24 hours is available for replay to logged‑in members. Footage is automatically and permanently deleted after about 24 hours and is not kept beyond that — we do not maintain a longer‑term archive of camera footage. We do not use facial recognition or other biometric identification, and we do not index, tag, or attempt to identify the individuals who appear in the footage.

Because the recording is short‑lived and continuously overwritten, any given moment ages out and is deleted on its own within about a day; we do not keep a means to locate or separately retrieve individual footage. If you have questions or concerns about the camera, you can reach us through our contact form.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted payment processing through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and membership requires you to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. You can manage your subscription and payment details through the members area, and you can request access to or deletion of your account information through our contact form. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

10. Third‑party data sources

Weather and imagery on the Service may originate from third parties such as NOAA. Those sources are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent version, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
